Hi Arborlax,
1.Are you able to install other application without any issue?
2.Which antivirus application are you using on your computer?
3.Do you have Windows 7 installation disc with you?
Refer to these methods in the order in which they are presented and check.
Method 1:
Run the Fixit referred in the following link, install the drier and check.
Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled.
Method 2:
Keep the computer in a clean boot status, install the driver and check.
How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
Note: Please go through the section: How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

Run the System File Checker tool and check.
